Music Director - Yip Chun Kit

Yip Chun-Kit was born in Hong Kong. He began to study the trombone at age 16, under the direction of Mr. Pak Wing-Heng at the Hong Kong Music Office. While a student of the Music Office, Yip was the Principal trombone of the Hong Kong Youth Symphony Orchestra (YSO) and the Hong Kong Youth Symphonic Band (YSB). He was touring with YSB to Korean for promoting Hong Kong in 2001.

In year 2002, he was admitted into the Academy for Performing Arts in Hong Kong (HKAPA) majoring Bass Trombone performance, under the direction of Dr. Denson Paul Pollard (Bass trombone of the New York Metropolitan Opera Orchestra). He was invited to join the European tour with the Academic Brass Ensemble. While touring Copenhagen, Paris, Brussels and especially Berlin, where he had a very valuable lesson from given by Stefan Schulz (Bass trombone of Berliner Philharmonic Orchestra). Yip joined the Asian Youth Orchestra 2004, toured to China, Bangkok, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines and Japan. He completed his Bachelor Degree in HKAPA 2006. Yip Chun Kit has been a freelance/ substitute player of Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, Hong Kong Sinfonietta, City Chamber Orchestra.

Mr. Yip is very active in contributing to the society as a band director and brass tutor. He gives lessons a local schools and he joined the Hong Kong Music Office as a trombone/euphonium/tuba tutor since fall 2002.
